Product FAQ's
1) Can wood veneer edge banding be painted over?
Yes, wood veneer can be painted over or stained if the surfaces are primed correctly, and you use the correct paint or stain, just like any other wood surface.
2) Can wood veneer edge banding be applied without an iron?
If you do not have an iron or are worried about the heat affecting the colour of the banding it is possible to use a heat gun instead, however, be careful as the heat gun may burn the epoxy. It is also possible to use a hair dryer on a high heat setting to activate the glue.
3) How water resistant is wood veneer edge banding?
Our wood veneer edge banding is recommended for indoor use however, if you would like to apply it in a kitchen, bathroom or outdoors it is possible by varnishing and sealing the edge banding after application, this prevents water from entering and damaging the banding.
4) How flexible is the wood veneer edge banding? (can it be applied over curves?)
Our edge banding is suitable for gentle curved edges.
5) What surfaces can the wood veneer edge banding be applied to?
The edge banding can be applied to any surface besides metal and glass surfaces. Just be sure to prepare your surface by sanding and cleaning it before application.
6) Why are the small wood veneer rolls sized at 7.5 meters?
7.5m length will cover the linear edge of a standard MDF board (8' x 4' / 2440 x 1220mm)
